Last Friday we had a very successful Thank You and Awards night in the Foothills when we also recognised the teams of 1985 and 1989. Thanks to the Foothills for the wonderful food, to everyone who attended and Congratulations to the award winners- Senior Player- Brian Mc Garvey, Reserve – Peter Clarke, Manager’s – Laurence Hollywood, Minor – Eoghan Mc Garvey, Young Player – Cormac Bradley, Spirit of Michael Mc Kenna – Shane Clarke & Kevin Mc Cullagh and Clubperson- Anita Mc Connell. On Sunday evening we had the Youth presentation in the hall. U12 Player- Fionn Mc Kenna, U12 Most Improved- John Mc Kenna , U13 Player- Odhrán Brolly, U13 Most Improved – Cormac Mossey, U14 Player – Seamus Cassidy, U14 Most Improved – Noel Mc Chrystal Burt , U 16 Player – Patrick Mc Cullagh, U16 Most Improved- Peter Bradley and Overall Youth Player- Peter Bradley. Thanks to anyone who helped in any way with both events. On Sunday the Ulster League got underway with a game against Urney. This week’s game has been changed to Saturday with a 3:45 throw in against Killybegs in Fintra. GoldMark is a dynamic programme aimed at promoting and recognising sports volunteering for 14 to 24 year olds. The GoldMark Scheme is run by Volunteer Now and recognises three levels of volunteering 50 hours, 100 hours and 200 hours. This initiative is recognised by Department of Education and will help young volunteers on CVs and college applications. This workshop will provide information for young volunteers and their clubs on the benefits of the programme and how they can become involved in the programme. All clubs are encouraged to ask their young volunteer aged 14-24years old to attend this workshop so that they can enroll for this important programme and receive certificates for their volunteering hours.This will take place in Tyrone GAA Centre , Garvaghey this Saturday from 10:30 – 11am. Further details on the website. Draft plans for the re-development of the parish hall and GAA grounds are available for viewing. Please come along to the Pedlar’s Rest on Thursday 12th February at 7:45 pm to review the plans and give us your thoughts. The hard work now begins to secure to funding necessary for this project. Your interest and support is greatly needed and much appreciated. Bingo as usual every Saturday night. Last week’s lotto numbers were 7, 9, 22, 29 and 30. V Brown had 4 numbers and won £100.
