Possibility exists of organising trip to Gaoth Dobhair Gaeltacht from Fri
27 – Sun 29 March. This would include one day course on Sat 28 March and
night out in Hiúdaí Beag’s pub that night where Seo Linn are playing at
the Cabaret Craiceáilte. Please respond asap if you’d be interested in
availing of this opportunity and I’ll organise something next week if
enough interest is shown. Overall cost including accommodation and travel
should be less than £100.
Omagh District Council are holding an Information Day on Irish Language
Careers / Lá Eolais ar Ghairmeacha le Gaeilge in Strule Arts Centre,
Omagh on Monday 2 March from 10am – 12:30pm. This is open to anyone who
would like to come along and speak to a representative from any of the
following organisations about the service they make available through
the medium of Irish: Conradh na Gaeilge, Foras na Gaeilge, Comhairle na
Gaelscolaíochta, Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta – Gaoth Dobhair, Coláiste

Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta (The Council for Irish-medium Education) is
hosting a consultation event at the above venue on Monday 2nd March, to
engage with the Irish-medium education sector locally, to ascertain the
views, concerns and expectations of the community of Omagh and beyond, on
how the sector should develop and progress in the years ahead.
The consultation process is key to Area Planning and will inform the
direction of CnaG’s development strategy regarding Irish-medium preschool,
primary and post-primary provision.
